UC Master Gardener docents will be on site every 2nd Saturday of the month from 10 am to 12:00 pm to answer your questions.
A little more about the “Demo Garden”…
Master Gardeners began work on 11,000 square feet of property on the east side of the Loomis Library and Community Learning Center in September 2023. The project transformed an existing lawn into a beautiful water wise garden showcasing California natives, pollinators, and edible plants.
The garden provides an educational environment with areas devoted to pollinator friendly gardens, HOA friendly garden, rain gardens, compost demonstration area, California native woodlands, a lawn alternative meadow, hedgerows, an edible garden, straw bale alternative and an orchard. The plants and fruit trees are all small but have labels, and the labels have QR codes so visitors can learn more about them.
The garden will be open to the public at the same hours as the Loomis Library but closing at dusk.
Garden Gates Are Open on The Following Days:
Tuesday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday – Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
