Description:

The Loomis Basin Historical Society was founded in 1993 for the purpose of discovering, collecting, preserving, and making accessible the history and heritage of the Loomis Basin Area. The Historical Society works to identify and preserve places of historical interest and promote public awareness of the history of the Loomis Basin; to educate the public on the importance of the Loomis Basin’s role in the history of California and the United States; and to encourage the development of a Loomis Basin history museum. The Historical Society maintains the local history collection and curates special museum shows. Currently, the Historical Society has exhibition space at the Loomis Library and Community Learning Center.

Description: In the fall of 2006, a small group of committed parents, educators, and community leaders formed an exploratory committee to officially start an education foundation for the Loomis Basin area.  After months of work, the Loomis Basin Education Foundation was officially incorporated on December 21, 2006.  The Loomis Basin Education Foundation (L.B.E.F.) improves the overall educational experience of students in the Loomis Union School District by supplementing academic and enrichment programs while supporting the district’s strategic plan. L.B.E.F. works to raise funds through community involvement and provide financial support to the Loomis Union School District.
